The Crete High School Student Council will host the 2010 District 7 Convention on the Doane College campus on Tuesday, March 16th. An estimated 200 – 300 students from District 7 will be in attendance. NASC (Nebraska Association of Student Councils) District 7 includes all of the schools in the counties of Clay, Gage, Fillmore, Jefferson, Johnson, Nemaha, Nuckolls, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, and Thayer.
The highlight of the day will include a keynote address by former husker football player and 2010 U.S. Olympic Bobsled Gold Medalist Curtis Tomasevicz. Tomasevicz hails from Shelby, Nebraska and has a special message about following your dreams and becoming a leader. There will also be break-out groups where students will learn some leadership skills and interact with student from other schools. Students will also be divided into groups and discuss student council happenings in their school so ideas can be exchanged as a way for all student council groups to grow!
