MUSIC DEPARTMENTS EXCEL AT DISTRICTS

The Crete High School Concert Choir earned medals at the District Music Contest at Norris High School on Friday afternoon. To earn medals, the choir needed to score superior ratings from all three judges. The swing choir earned excellent ratings for their performance on Thursday evening.

 

Choral students earning superior ratings for vocal solos were Han Chu, Rae Fahrlander, Samantha Renker, David Shadoin, Alexa Wittstruck and Angela Youssef. Also earning a superior rating was the mixed quartet of Samantha Renker, Kirby Urbanek, Tasha Muff and Matt Nikont. Students earning excellent ratings were Girls Duet (Rae Fahrlander, Tasha Muff), Mixed Duet (Alexa Wittstruck, David Shadoin) and Mixed Quartet (Han Chu, Sarah Lothrop, Ali Schuerman, Garrett Reckling). Choral director is Michael Morris.

 

The Crete High School Concert Band and Jazz Band earned excellent ratings.  Instrumental students earning superior ratings for solos were Rae Fahrlander (Oboe), Amanda Riley (Clarinet). Also earning superior ratings were Clarinet Trio (Amanda Riley, Tasha Muff, Morgan Ramer), and Flute Duet (Kristin Koch, Grace Perdue). Students earning excellent ratings were Christina Jackson (flute), Kristin Koch (flute), Grace Perdue (flute), Emily Sherburn (Alto Sax), David Shestak (Alto Sax), Laura Shestak (flute) and Michaela Wolverton (trumpet). Instrumental directors are Eric Fahrlander and Jennene Anderson.
