There were over 50 mentors and mentees who enjoyed watching a Christmas movie, playing a lively game of musical chairs, and enjoying a variety of tasty food together.

Mujeres en Accion, a local women’s volunteer service group, provided 140 homemade tamales for the event. Mrs. Schwartz, along with Crete High School culinary arts students, prepared and served several dishes for the party. A TeamMates board member donated delicious cookie dough brownies for the event, and Smithfield donated the ham.  A staff member lent their copy of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” and a student volunteer ran tech for the event. The CHS custodial and kitchen staff also provided important help.

The teamwork of the above groups and individuals resulted in a night of encouragement and celebration for the mentees and mentors.  Teamwork makes the dream work. "
