Saline county farmer, Rodney Smith, directed a $2,500 grant to the TeamMates Mentoring Program of Crete. This project was made possible by this local farmer and America’s Farmers Grow Communities, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund. As part of a way to further their mission the TeamMates mentoring program of Crete will use the funds to buy new board games, card games and new basketballs and soccer balls for the mentors and mentees to enjoy during their mentoring time and also for operational costs. The grant directed to the TeamMates of Crete mentoring program, by Rodney Smith, is an encouraging and meaningful gift that will help TeamMates to continue to positively impact the youth of Crete through mentoring. "Thank you for investing in the youth of Crete through your gift, Rodney Smith," said, Wendy Byh-Jongejan, TeamMates of Crete, HS TeamMates Program Coordinator.
