Middle School Addition Moving Along

The additions to the middle school are progressing nicely. The north wing, which includes a new art room, a conference room, and life skills areas, is nearly complete. That area is now painted and carpeted and ready for finishing touches. The southwest wing, which includes seven classrooms that will house 6th graders, health, and special services classes, restrooms, and custodial storage, is currently having the suspended ceilings and cabinets installed. The tile areas are also being completed in this wing, and the areas are being painted. Soon the lockers and carpet will be installed.
This project is in preparation for moving the 5th graders to the middle school beginning in the 2010-11 School Year. Information will be coming in upcoming months about plans to transition the 200+ new students (current 4th and 5th graders) to the middle school. What an exciting time for Crete Public Schools!
