ESL: Daytime and Evening Adult English Classes offered free to students.
Registration is required. Call for information on specific classes - 826-5228.
Daytime Classes: Crete Public Library: 305 E. 13th - Mondays & Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. UCC Church: 12th & Juniper - Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Evening Classes: Crete Elementary School: 11th & Kingwood - Mondays & Thursdays: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
ABE/GED: High School Equivalency Program. Getting your GED diploma involves taking a series of tests that include: Language Arts/Writing, Social Studies, Science, Literature Arts/Reading, & Mathematics. Evening classes and books are free. Cost for testing is $50.00. Must be 16 years old to enroll; registration required.
Evening Classes: Blue River Family Center: 325 E. 9th - Mondays & Thursdays: 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Even Start: If you have a child age 7 or under and qualify educationally, here's your chance for a better life! We offer parenting, reading, math, GED and ESL classes. Classes, transportation, meals/snacks, childcare, early childhood education are all free! Contact the Special Programs office to see if you qualify, 826-5228.
Migrant Even Start: If you have moved into the area in the last 3 years because of an agricultural related job (Farmland, Nestle Purina Pet Care, etc.) you may qualify to receive Free Classes for GED, ESL and parenting skills. Classes offered during the daytime, evenings and Saturdays. The daytime program includes free transportation, childcare and meals. Contact 826-5228 to see if you qualify.
Migrant Education: If you have moved into the area within the last 3 years because of an agricultural related job and you have children between the ages of 3-21, you may be eligible for special educational services. Services include: preschool programs, summer school, individual tutorial and classroom instruction.
