School Beacon - Cardinal Connection
Crete Public Schools provides a communication service to the public. School Beacon - Cardinal Connection is a telephone and email system in which anyone from the public may register to receive instant messages from the school district. Messages will include school closings and/or early dismissals as well as any emergency notifications. The school may also be sending event reminders, depending upon the response of patrons.
In order to register for this free service, individuals must access the district website at http://www.creteschools.com The right margin of the homepage will display the words, School Beacon - Cardinal Connection. Very simple and clear directions are then provided when clicking the site. Individuals may choose to receive messages to the phones of their choosing, i.e. cell, home, work or all of the above. Text message and/or voice are both options as well as an email option. It is important to note that some cell plans may charge for incoming text messages. Phone number options and choices can be changed as needed.
