Principal's Reading Challenge

Principal's Reading Challenge

As many of you know, every year we have the Principal’s Reading Challenge.  The challenge is for all students in our schools to read a certain number of books by the end of the year.  At the beginning of the year classes are asked to submit their ideas for what the principal should do if they meet the challenge.  The goal this year is 22,000 books and some of the ideas submitted by students were:

  • Kiss a pig
  • Dress like a girl
  • Dress like a chicken and do the chicken dance
  • Put the principal in the dunking booth

The students have currently read more than 19,000 books and it looks like they are determined to reach their goal.  So, on May 7th we will have a dunking booth set up on the playground.  On that day, every student in the school will have a chance to throw the ball and dunk the principal.

I am so proud of all our students.  They have worked so hard this year to meet the challenge and now it is time for me to get wet.
